Believe it or not, we are still working! Today, students reviewed angles. We then worked on constructing angles of different measures using a protractor, classified angles as acute, obtuse or right, and learned to define complementary and supplementary angles. There is no homework assigned for tonight.

Sorry for the recent lack of updates! I'm afraid we aren't doing anything terribly exciting at the moment. Students have been working their way through some end of the year assessment-type activities. As a result, there was no homework yesterday. Today students got a double-sided paper "for fun". I'm going to give plus point tickets out to students for each side of the assignment (one side is called "Relating Quantities" and the other is "Ordered Mazes"). There is NO PENALTY for not completing the assignments, and I'll be collecting them right through this Friday. Students with completed assignments will earn drop tickets for the last day's raffle next week. :)
Today's math lesson involved a quick review of Area (LxW), before moving on to Volume (LxWxH). Students used manipulatives to derive the formula, before applying it. Tonight's homework is 10.7 Practice A, due tomorrow.
No math class today. There's a grade-wide field trip.Last night's homework, 2.8 Practice A is still due tomorrow.
This past Friday was Field Day, and I was absent yesterday, so I apologize for the lack of those two posts. Today, we re-visited Mean, Median, Mode and Range, with students spending the last 15 minutes of class working on their independent practice, 2.8 Practice A. Homework (due Thursday, as we will not have math tomorrow due to a field trip) is to complete that sheet.
We did have math class today, and we began working on Mean, Median, Mode and Range. We will continue with those concepts next week. Tomorrow is Field Day, so tonight's homework (Fractions paper, front and back) is not due until next Tuesday!
Tonight's homework is Pizzazz C-39 and C-40, due Thursday. There will be no math class tomorrow, since we will be having the chorus concert in the morning.
Tonight (May 20) is the annual School-Wide Student Showcase Enrichment Fair & Science Fair!!! We'd love for you to come and join us from 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm as we celebrate our students and their amazing accomplishments! Projects will be out for display all around the building, with expert student speakers available to share their experiences. We look forward to seeing you there!
In math class today, students worked on practicing division of fractions before taking a quiz. There is no homework tonight, as we are hoping that many of our students will be joining us for the Fair! :) OK, hopefully I'll be more regular with updates than I've been! Today, we began reviewing for our end-of-unit assessment. Students practiced multiplying and dividing fractions. Tonight's homework is to complete C-60 and C-65 (Pizzazz papers), which were begun in class for about 20 minutes today.
We reviewed multiplication of fractions (paying special attention to simplifying diagonally) by doing several problems together, before students continued their work on their Candy Shop Displays. Tonight's homework is to complete 7.2 Practice C #1-21 odd only. There will be no math class tomorrow due to standardized testing.
